I remember my first week at CrossFit NoHo – I couldn’t do a pushup, struggled with a pull-up, my squat was tragic, and I couldn’t run 400m without walking. However, the camaraderie was so overwhelming and sometimes emotional, that I went back for more week after week. I began eating healthier, integrated paleo into my diet, and the weight melted away. In late 2013, after losing 57 pounds, I passed the CrossFit Level 1 trainer course and officially became a coach at CrossFit North Houston.

Since starting Crossfit I have gotten stronger and increased my endurance. I have also gained some wonderful friends that help me on the way. Seeing each other get stonger and motivate each other when giving up is what a team is all about. I love crossfit and every coach that has helped me get through my WOD of the day.

Crossfit North Houston’s community is awesome and you’ll never find a community nor programming like that at your local gym. I am more confident, not only do I look better but I feel better and the only weight I am worried about is the weight on the bar! Crossfit has ended that pressure to be “thin” and I LOVE my new “Strong” body.

My husband and I have both been members of Crossfit NOHO since December 2013. Working out together at NOHO has been both inspiring and humbling and it has ultimately brought us closer together…even when I beat my husband in a workout! But most importantly the coaches at NOHO are knowledgable and passionate about what they are doing.

Since joining Crossfit NOHO, meeting new people, sharing tips with trainers and other members the old me is non-existent –now at 50 years young from 185 pounds to 158 pounds; I’m feeling good, I am stronger and the “lady in the mirror” and I are “best friends”.
